(Based on Framework for Teaching Clusters)
Course Description:
In the era of high-stakes accountability, professional learning teams are being asked to work “Smarter Together” versus “Harder Alone.” Professional Learning Rounds, an adapted approach to Instructional Rounds (Elmore & City, 2009), uses targeted Framework for Teaching Clusters as a structured way for educators like you to work with colleagues to improve instruction. Professional Learning Rounds support shared learning through a three-step approach: peer observation, structured inquiry, and professional learning conversations.
- Learn how to use the step-by-step, research-based Professional Learning Rounds process to support teaching practice contained in the Framework for Teaching Cluster rubrics
- Experience the Professional Learning Round process by defining the area of teaching focus, observing classroom practice, analyzing the teaching/learning data, and engaging in collaborative conversations around the observed practice
- Gain protocols and strategies for using Professional Learning Rounds to support your teaching teams’ focus on successful learning for all students
